Amarilys “Amy” Castro, PIAM, CPII
Amy Castro has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her experience encompasses personal and commercial lines of insurance. She has worked in both company and agency levels, including agency owner, underwriter, customer service, claims adjuster and marketing positions.
In addition, she has served as an insurance specialist in the Miami Office of the Division of Consumer Services for the State of Florida Department of Financial Services. She is certified by the state as an insurance instructor and has taught pre-licensing courses and continuing education courses for agents, CSR’s, and adjusters for different institutions, including Central Insurance School, Miami Dade College and the Insurance Academy in the Miami Dade School system, as part of the InVest Program.
She has been a featured speaker at several organizations and insurance associations.
As an insurance agent and her role as marketing representative for different insurance companies, she has always been active in several insurance associations including the Professional Insurance Agents, the Independent Agents, the Specialty Agents Association and the Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies. She is also Past President for the Professional Association of Latin Insurance Women.
Amy is the owner of Insurance Training 101, Inc. She has a reputation of always helping people to understand insurance by training them in the different areas and she is well known for her patience and attention to detail while teaching, training and consulting people in the insurance industry. In addition to the Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education Classes, she offers Consulting and Practical Training in all lines of insurance at agencies and businesses.
